In modeling particulate systems population balance equations (PBE) play an important role, therefore finding
efficient solving method for these equations is very crucial. In this work an efficient numerical method for solving these
equations is introduced and implemented. The accuracy of selected method is shown by comparing the simulation
results with those obtained through analytical method. As a case study, the numerical technique is applied to a
crystallization process. Simulation results indicate that the selected method is accurate and fast, which makes it suitable
control purposes.
