Single screw extruders are the most common type of screw extruder. Therefore a mathematical model has been
developed to analyze the entire extrusion process in a single screw extruder under steady state conditions. Moreover, the
influence of the operation conditions such as pressure and temperatures in each zones, as well as the effects of the
extruder specify on the solid transport was investigated. In this work we used flat plate model and the model has been
verified experimentally on a single-screw extruder. The results of the model showed reasonably good agreement with
experimental data. However, such a comprehensive approach to the modeling of extrusion creates a possibility of
optimizing the process, for instance, from the point of view of the quality of extrusion.
