The HD unit is the distillation under atmospheric condition by an air loop saturated with water vapor, and has three main sections: Humidifier, dehumidifier and heat source. In this article a comparison between HD desalination with direct contact and HD desalination with indirect contact with using an optimization software is presented. In this comparison noticeable result regarding, the consumption of energy and heat transfer area as been observed.
