CO2 reforming of methane (CORM) over Rh/Al2O3 catalyst, one of promising options for CH4-CO2 co-utilization,
was designed and simulated in HYSYS software. In this process, CO2 and CH4 were converted into syngas in a plug
flow reactor in a steady state mode via CORM plant. Effect of temperature and CO2/CH4 ratio in feed on CH4 conversion
and H2/CO ratio (in syngas) were investigated. It is shown that increasing temperature raised both CH4 conversion
as well as H2/CO ratio. While minimum CO2/CH4 feed ratio (i.e. 0.25) had the highest effect on the improvement of
H2/CO ratio in syngas, decreased CH4 conversion greatly in target reaction of CORM. The optimum ratio of H2/CO at
1400 K and CO2/CH4 = 0.25, was obtained around 1.
