ZnO nanoparticles were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method using microwave irradiation. The effects of two
surfactants on the size and morphology of ZnO particles were investigated, simultaneously. The surfactants, Adipic acid
and Dodecylbenzene sulfunic acid (DDBS), were used as capping agent and dispersing agent, respectively. The
obtained powders were examined by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The average
Crystallite size was determined Using Sherrer equation to be in the range 15-30 nm. The tests were carried out in
various conditions and the results were investigated and optimized using 23 factorial design.
