In this research, the effects of cobalt naphthenate and 2-benzoylbenzoic acid on photo-oxidative degradation of LDPE
have been studied. Carbonyl index, mechanical properties, crystallinity and density of the tested materials were studied
before and after UV-irradiation. The results show that by increasing cobalt naphthenate the rate of degradation increases
but by incorporation of 2- benzoylbenzoic acid the degradation rate decreases. Also, concentration of cobalt
naphthenate and time of irradiation are affected on degradation of LDPE samples.
