Microgels/nanogels are crosslinked polymeric particles, which can be considered as hydrogels if they are composed of
water soluble/swellable polymer chains. In this article, micr/nano-sized interpenetrating polymer network hydrogels
based on poly (vinyl alcohol) and poly (acrylamide-co-potassium acrylate) were prepared by the semi-IPN method
using micro-emulsion polymerization. The influence of reaction conditions, such as the concentration of PVA,
potassium acrylate, crosslinker and acrylamide, on the swelling behavior of these semi-IPNs was investigated in detail.
