In the present work, we employed nanostructured cobalt as a supporting material for platinum, a wellknown
electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction in aqueous solution. The morphology of the
synthesized nano-cobalt were examined with scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Preparation of the Pt-
CO/CO/vulcan/graphite catalyst was carried out by electrodeposition of Pt onto the surface of
Co/vulcan/graphite electrode. The electrochemical activity of the Pt-Co/Co/vulcan/graphite for the
oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) was investigated in acid solution by linear sweep voltammetry and
electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The results revealed that the Pt-Co/Co/vulcan/graphite has
higher electro-catalytic activity for oxygen reduction in comparison with Pt/graphite catalyst.
