آيات قرآن حضرت محمد (ص) را الگوي عملي مسلمانان معرفي مي كند. در سيره پيامبر تلاش براي تأمين نيازهاي اقتصادي، بسيار مورد تاكيد است تا آنجا كه نه قسمت از ده جزء عبادت، كار براي روزي حلال شمرده شده است. ايشان خود در شغل هاي متعددي مانند بازرگاني، چوپاني، بنايي و باغداري همت گمارده و در فعاليت هاي اقتصادي جمعي نيز حضور داشته اند. امر به انديشيدن براي بهتر شدن كار؛ تشويق به فعاليت جسمي براي رونق كار؛ توصيه به انفاق، وقف و قرض الحسنه براي كمك به اقتصاد اجتماع؛ همراهي كار و فعاليت با معنويات و طلب روزي از خداوند؛ مبارزه با امتيازطلبي و اشرافيت؛ توجه به نقش زنان به عنوان نيمي از اجتماع در رشد اقتصاد؛ تمركز بر نوع رفتار بازار و بازاريان به عنوان مراكز مهم اقتصادي از عملكردهايي است كه به عنوان الگوي عملي مي توان از سيره پيامبر (ص) برداشت نمود.
