In this paper, we propose a numerical scheme based on the finite volume method for the solution of regularized long wave equation. At first a second order scheme is suggested for the time discretization and then fully discrete method is achieved using finite volume approach. We prove that the proposed method has conservative property. Numerical results show the capability of method and confirm the theoretical results.
