امروزه هوشمندسازي شهرها يكي از مهم ترين و اساسي ترين موضوعات براي مديران و برنامه ريزان شهرها است كه از طريق آن مي توان شهر را بهتر مديريت و با ايجاد ساز و كارهاي هوشمندانه سطح رفاه را ارتقاء و خدمات مطلوب تري را به شهروندان و جامعه هدف ارائه نمود، هدف از اين پژوهش بررسي زيرساخت ها و قابليت هوشمندسازي شهر مي باشد در اين پژوهش كه با روش تحليلي _توصيفي انجام شد ويژگي هاي مختلف شهر هوشمند را مورد تحقيق قرار داده و برا ساس يافته هاي اين پروژه هوشمندسازي باعث ايجاد فرصت هاي جديد ، افزايش كارايي ها، بهره-مندي و بهره وري بيشتر خواهد شد به گونه ايي كه فناوري هاي ديجيتالي و هوشمند موجبات ايجاد و توسعه ي فرصت هاي شغلي جديد و به دنبال آن رشد در همه مولفه هاي زندگي را فراهم مي آورد، سرعت طراحي و ارائه خدمات و محصولات را بالا برده و زمينه ارتقاء خلاقيت ها را افزايش داده و رشد نوآوري و اختراعات را موجب ميگردد . هوشمندسازي منجر به پيشرفت و جهاني شدن بيش از پيش مي شود وسرعت پيشرفت در كشورهاي در حال توسعه را افزايش داده و در نتيجه در كاهش فاصله اين كشورها با كشورهاي پيشرفته نقش موثري خواهد داشت. وصل شدن به شبكه هاي جهاني تحت عنوان هوشمندسازي با سهولت بيشتري ميسر ميگردد با توجه به سنتي بودن بسياري از عوامل موثر بر توسعه و پيشرفت، دولت بايستي اعتبارات لازم را جهت ايجاد زيرساخت هاي ارتباطي كشور به عمل آورد تا بسترهاي مناسب و امن براي هوشمندسازي محيا گردد. پيشنهادهايي كه براي اين شهرها ارائه شده بد ين شرح است: ارائه مدل مالي جديد بر اساس ظرفيت هاي شهرها، ترغيب سرمايه گذاران در زمينه هاي تحقيقاتي و فناورانه ، ترغيب سرمايه گذاران براي سرمايه گذاري بيشتر در زمينه هوشمندسازي شهر ، توليد و بكارگيري انرژي هاي نو ، كمك از مراكز آموزشي براي ترويج آموزش شهروندي، حمايت از ايده هاي نوين شهروندان در مسائل شهري و تقويت خلاقيت و نوآوري آنان، استفاده از سيستم هاي حمل و نقل هوشمند با پشتيباني فناوري اطلاعات و ارتباطات و... با پيشنهادها و بررسي هايي كه در اين پروژه ارائه شده است دسترسي به شهرهاي هوشمند سريعتر و قابليت هوشمندسازي بهتر فراهم خواهدشد.
