In the present study, bismuth silicate (Bi2SiO5) and bismuth molybdenum oxide (Bi2MoO6) nanophotocatalysts have been prepared by one-pot sono-solvohermal synthesis for the elimination of lecofloxacin (LVO). Crystallographic and morphological analyses are used to demonstrate the true synthesis of nanophotocatalysts and the discussion of results gained. As-synthesized Bi2MoO6 showed higher remediation potential towards LVO pollutant. Bi2MoO6 could remediate 30 mg/L LVO up to 79% (corresponding concentration: 26.1 mg/L) during 150 min (60 min dark + 90 min light). But, the remediation capability of Bi2SiO5over 30 mg/L LVO was calculated to be 14% (corresponding concentration: 6.2 mg/L) at the same condition. As a result, he remediation potential of Bi2MoO6 nanophotocatalyst is 5.67 times of Bi2SiO5 owing to its suitable band gap, effective light harvesting and probably proper surface area.
