The death rate has increased in patients who are vulnerable to fungal infections due to weakened immune systems. Due to the biofilms that Candida Albicans produce throughout the growth phase, they are more difficult to treat with traditional antifungal medications. Nano-metal complexes have drawn interest because of their high surface area and small diameters, which allows for the penetration of fungal membranes. Recently, anti-fungal drugs using Schiff-base complexes of metal ions such as Ag have been developed. In this study, we synthesized and characterized the Fe3O4@SiO2/Schiff-base complex of Ag (I) and investigated its antifungal activity against Candida albicans using the microdilution approach. The Ag NPs showed the inhibition concentration of 2 μg/mL. The MTT evaluation confirmed the non-cytotoxicity of the Ag (I) nanoparticles. By using FT-IR, XRD, DLS, TEM, SEM, EDX, and TGA, the structure of Fe3O4@SiO2/Schiff-base complex of Ag (I) was identified.
