Biosensors have been applied widely in various fields including clinical diagnosis, environment monitoring and food control. Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) is a high k dielectric material with promising biosensor applications. The aluminum oxide (alumina) nano particles synthesized with Sol-Gel method. Aluminum tri-sec-butoxide was used as a precursor with acetylacetone and isopropanol as coupling agent and catalyst, respectively. Aluminum precursor and acetylacetone with ratio 1:2 and 1:0.25 were used in this process. Nanosturactural properties, surface morphology and chemical quantity of element in the sample were investigated using x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray (EDX) techniques, respectively. The obtained results demonstrate that Alumina nanoparticles have good surface structures and could be used in electronic devices such as biosensors for medical and pharmaceutical applications.
