The stability and growth of a nano-bubble on a smooth surface are studied by molecular dynamics simulation in this work. We investigated the phase transition of an argon film on substrates. When the liquid atoms on obtain enough thermal energy, they convert into a nano-bubble. Our simulation reveal how pinning of the threephase contact line on the surface can lead to the stability of the surface nano-bubble.
