Wool was modified with a bio-compatible chitosan derivative, namely, chitosan-polypropylene imine dendrimer (CS-PPI) and dyed with Dactylopius coccus natural dye. Dye up-take in terms of color strength, color parameters and color fastness properties were then evaluated. According to the results, an appreciable improvement in dye up-take (74.63%) was resulted. Alteration did not induce appreciable changes in color parameters. In addition, color fastness properties remained nearly unchanged being in satisfactory application level.
