In our study, we investigated the influence of hydrogenation thermal treatment on TiO2 nanotubes photocatalytic performance in H2 production. SEM imaging revealed consistent nanotube dimensions in both annealed (AA ) and hydrogenated (AA H) samples. XRD analysis confirmed the formation of the TiO2 anatase phase, while Raman spectra indicated point defects in AA H. Under AM1.5 solar simulator and UV light, both samples exhibited limited H2 evolution, with hydrogenation significantly enhancing production. Our findings underscore the pivotal role of hydrogenation in augmenting the photocatalytic efficiency of TiO2 nanotubes for H2 generation.
