Corporate social responsibility, a protection for stock returns and shareholders attention during the Corona pandemic

پس از شيوع ويروس واگير كرونا، در اكثر كشورها مشكلات زيادي براي شركت ها بوجود آمده است. در اين شرايط شركت-ها راه حل هاي مختلفي را براي مشكلات خود مد نظر قرار داده اند. به نظر مي رسديكي از راه هايي كه مي تواند از تاثيرات منفي اين بيماري بر عملكرد شركت ها بكاهد، رعايت مسئوليت اجتماعي شركت است. از اين رو در اين پژوهش به بررسي نقش حفاظتي فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي شركت از بازده سهام و ارتباط آن با توجه سهامداران در دروه بيماري همه گير كرونا پرداخته شده است. اين پژوهش يك مطالعه رويدادي است. براي اندازه گيري نقش حفاظتي فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي بر بازده سهام از مدل شانگژي و همكاران و براي فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي شركت از مدل گرگيو و همكاران استفاده شده است. جامعه آماري اين پژوهش شامل اطلاعات 33 شركت عضو نمونه در سه صنعت دارويي، غذايي و حمل و نقل است كه از ابتداي شروع كرونا در ايران در يك دوره 6 ماهه مد نظر قرار گرفته شده و با استفاده از روش رگرسيون چند متغيره آزمون شده است. نتايج پژوهش حاكي از آن است، فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي مربوط به بخش هاي جامعه، روابط كاركنان و حقوق بشر در دوره هاي رويداد، باعث افزايش بازده سهام شركت ها مي شوند و شاخص هاي ديگر تاثير مثبتي بر بازده سهام ندارند. ساير نتايج نشان مي دهد، بين فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي شركت و توجه سهامداران رابطه مثبت و معني داري وجود دارد. به بيان ديگر شركت ها با افزايش فعاليت هاي مسئوليت اجتماعي مي توانند نظر سهامداران را در دوره كرونا به خود جلب كنند و ارزش شركت را افزايش دهند.

After the spread of the contagious corona virus, many problems have arisen for companies in most countries. In this situation, companies have considered different solutions for their problems. It seems that one of the ways that can reduce the negative effects of this disease on the performance of companies is to observe the social responsibility of the company. Therefore, in this research, the protective role of the company s social responsibility activities from the stock returns and its relationship with the attention of the shareholders in the course of the Corona epidemic have been investigated. This research is an event study. To measure the protective role of social responsibility activities on stock returns, Shangzhi et al. s model has been used, and for corporate social responsibility activities, Gregio et al. s model has been used. The statistical population of this research includes the information of 33 sample member companies in three industries, pharmaceutical, food, and transportation, which have been considered since the beginning of the Corona virus in Iran in a period of 6 months and tested using the multivariate regression method. The results of the research indicate that the social responsibility activities related to the sectors of society, employee relations and human rights in the event periods increase the stock returns of the companies and other indicators have a positive effect on the stock returns. do not have Other results show that there is a positive and significant relationship between corporate social responsibility activities and shareholders attention. In other words, by increasing social responsibility activities, companies can attract the opinion of shareholders during the Corona period and increase the value of the company.
