Nanoparticles and Covid 19 in the Past Crisis

Aim and Background: Almost 3 years have passed since the Covid 19 virus began. Considering the impact and epidemic of this disease and its risks for the health of all people in the world, researchers looked for ways to diagnose, as well as prevent and treat this disease. The field of vaccines was one of the things that were the focus of many countries in this pandemic. Methods: PubMed and Scopus databases were studied in the last 3 years based on the main keywords of nanoparticles, Covid, diagnosis, vaccine and treatment. Results and discussion: Nanoparticles can play both adjuvant and delivery roles in vaccine systems. Several leading companies started producing vaccines based on nanotechnology. Nanoparticles have a significant impact in various fields of medicine and therapy and diagnosis, including biosensors, diagnostic kits, imaging and smart drug delivery. Vaccines based on nanotechnology can stimulate both humoral and cellular systems. Including lipid nanoparticles that cause the escape of endosomes and prevent enzymatic degradation and the release of genetic cargo in the cytosol, and in this way can play an antigenic role and stimulate the immune system. Conclusion: In this study, we will examine the applications of nanoparticles in dealing with Covid in the years since the pandemic.
