Aim and Background: In recent years, nanomedicine with medical interventions for regenerative purposes has led to great advances in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Providing alternatives for damaged tissues and organs by improving the performance of cell responses, targeted drug delivery systems, transport nutritional factors, and also the development of tissue engineering scaffolds are among the important achievements of nanomedicine based on tissue engineering. In the meantime, nanoemulsions have become very useful as targeted drug carriers to improve the health of society. Methods: An electronic search was conducted in PubMed and Google Scholar search engines with English keywords, including Nanoemulsions, regenerative nanomedicine, and tissue engineering. A combined search of keywords was done using Boolean operators AND, NOT, and OR. Results and discussion: We found that nanoemulsions are very important due to their unique structure and characteristics. Therefore, they have many applications in the repair of organs due to properties such as local anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial effects, high inhibition against bacterial growth, and anti-angiogenic, antimicrobial, and anti-cancer effects. Conclusion: By reviewing past studies, we found that engineered nanoemulsions with improved surface characteristics to regulate cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and differentiation are important steps in tissue regeneration. They also reduce the risks of infection, inflammation, toxicity, and production cost. Therefore, it is suggested to use nanoemulsion to make nanosensors and to use agents for drug delivery, including antibodies, to increase the interaction between cells and biological materials, and provide tissue regeneration.
