Introduction: The skin is a protective layer of the body against various external factors, and any damage to this organ, such as wounds, endangers the health of the whole body. Hydrogel dressing can keep the wound environment moist, absorb tissue secretions, allow oxygen to penetrate the wound surface, and cool the wound surface, leading to faster wound healing. To increase the speed of wound healing, nano liposomes containing Matricaria chammilla extract were added to the hydrogel. Methods: In this study, nanoliposome were synthesized using thin film hydration method. The surface morphology and functional groups were evaluated by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) method, respectively. Also, the cytotoxicity (MTT) assay of it was investigated on the fibroblast cells (L929) line. Results: Our finding showed that the liposomal hydrogel containing chammilla extract has a suitable swelling, vapor permeability and prolonged in vitro release profile. The results of MTT assay did not show any cytotoxicity in our produced hydrogel even at high concentrations. Conclusion: we have produced formula liposomal hydrogel which accelerates wound healing for a variety of wounds.
