كشور ايران به لحاظ شرايط مناسب اقليمي و تنوع آب و هوائي، داراي پتانسيل بالائي در توليد دارويي است. جهت ايجاد فضاي سبز، اصلاح و احياء مراتع بياباني و كويري و جهت احياء مراتع كوهستاني و نيمه استپي مي توان از گل محمدي به تنهايي و يا بصورت مخلوط با ساير گونه هاي ديم انجام گردد. گل‌محمدي با نام علمي (Rosa damascena) نام نوعي گل رز است، از شاخص‌ترين صفاتي كه در گل محمدي مي‌توان ذكر كرد، بقاء و سازگاري اين گياه به خشكي است، كه در طول سال فقط 2 تا 3 بار و بعضاً مناطقي كه اصلاً آبياري انجام نمي‌‌شود و به تجربه ثابت شده در مناطقي كه بارندگي از 250 ميلي‌متر بيشتر باشد، كشت ديم آن امكان پذير است.گرچه به طور مسلم كاهش عملكرد اقتصادي در آن مشاهده مي شود. اين گياه در هر ارتفاعي قابل كشت بوده و براي كاشت در فضاي سبز در اكثر مناطق كشور، گل محمدي گياه مناسبي بنظر مي‌رسد و يكي از گياهاني است كه به لحاظ داشتن كاربردهاي چندگانه تزئيني، دارويي و بهداشتي، داراي ارزش و جايگاهي ويژه‌اي براي تجارت جهاني است. گونه ايراني اين گل در دنيا منحصر به ‌فرد است. اين گياه بسيار مقاوم به شرايط محيطي بوده و اكثر شرايط آب و هوائي را به‌ خوبي تحمل مي‌كند و با توجه به بروز خشكسالي‌هـاي مسـتمر و بحـران آب در مناطق خشك و نيمه‌خشك كشور و ارزش اقتصـادي بالاي محصول گـل محمـدي و اهميت روزافـزون فضاي سبز در ايران از سوي ديگر، كاشت گل محمدي بمنظور ايجاد فضاي سبز ضروري به نظر مي‌رسد.

This plant is very resistant to environmental conditions and tolerates most weather conditions well, and considering the occurrence of continuous droughts and water crisis in arid and semi-arid regions of the country and the high economic value of the rose flower product and the increasing importance of green spaces in Iran, On the other hand, it seems necessary to plant rose flowers in order to create a green space.
