امروزه روانشناسان اعتقاد دارند كه فضاي سبز در تأمين بهداشت محيط‌هاي مسكوني نقش مؤثري در سلامت شهروندان دارد. با توجه به كمبود آب و كيفيت نامساعد خاك در اكثر نقاط كشور، شناخت گونه‌هاي گياهي مثمر، دارويي و بومي كه مي‌توان در طراحي فضاي سبز به كار آيد ضرورتي اجتناب‌ناپذير است. همچنين يكي از مسائل مطرح امروزه مصرف بهينه آب است، با توجه به طراحي‌هاي فضاي سبز و استفاده از گياهان غيربومي كه اكثراً با اقليم منطقه موردنظر مطابقت ندارد، مي‌توان با استفاده از گياهان بومي و مثمر با ايده خشك منظري قدمي روبه‌جلو براي كاهش مصرف آب در فضاي سبز برداشت. ازآنجايي‌كه به علت كاهش نزولات جوي، منابع آبي در بيشتر نقاط كشور ازجمله شهر كازرون با محدوديت مواجه شده است و از طرفي مديريت فضاي سبز با توجه به گونه‌هاي گياهي حاضر تقريباً امكان‌پذير نيست لذا معرفي و استفاده از گونه‌هاي گياهي جديد در اين زمينه از اهميت زيادي برخوردار است.
