Influence of heat treatment in different mediums on the adhesion strength of clear coating

The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of Heat treatment in different mediums on the adhesion strength of transparent coatings and increasing the quality surface to purpose use in buildings and wooden furniture. The poplar wood samples were prepared from which had 8 % moisture content and were 200*100*20 mm in dimensions. Samples’ surface were covered with a clear coat in two separate process which was sealer-clear and sealer-acidcatalyzed lacquer. Thermal treatment, hygrothermal treatment and oil heat treatment mediums in two phases of 150 and 180°C for Covering and increase the quality surface were used. The results showed that thermal treatment had a significant effect on the adhesive strength of the clear coating. The highest adhesion strength was obtained in samples that were in both mediums thermally and hygrothermally at 150°C but, decreased in specimens with oil heat treatment.
