شباهتهاي مضموني در آثار و شخصيتهاي داستاني و همچنين زندگي شخصي اين دو نويسنده مانند علاقه هر دو به دوري از مردم، گياه خواري، فكر كردن به خودكشي، بر خوردار بودن از يك طبقه مرفه و تاثير پذيريهاي هدايت از كافكا و ترجمه آثار او از جمله موارد مشابه زندگي شخصي و داستاني صادق هدايت و فرانتس كافكا بود كه نگارنده را بر آن داشت كه با استفاده از ادبيات تطبيقي به بررسي قشر بندي اجتماعي در آثار اين دو نويسنده بپردازد. به همين سبب بعد از ذكر مقدمه، نكاتي را در مورد مكاتب ادبي اين نويسنده و شخصيتهاي داستاني در آثار اين دو نويسنده پرداختيم كه شباهتهاي زيادي بين شخصيتهاي داستاني اين دو بود. اقشار مختلف جامعه در چك و چكسلواكي در اواخر قرن هجده و اوايل قرن نوزدهم و ايران معاصر در دوره پهلوي اول در داستانهاي كافكا و هدايت نمود پبدا كرده است كه مهمترين آنها، كارمندان، نظاميان، قاضيان، كارگران و... هستند.
