Hydrogels are three-dimensional hydrated polymer networks with transverse connections. They are formed by cross-linked hydrophilic polymers with a high affinity for water and biological fluids and can absorb ten percent to thousands of times their dry weight of water. Hydrogels can be chemically or chemically cross-linked. Due to its good mechanical strength, the chemical type is considered more. There are two types of hydrogels, synthetic and natural, and the natural type is considered more important than synthetic hydrogels due to its different characteristics, high cost, non-toxicity, unacceptable acceptability, and biocompatibility. Hydrogels are used in industries such as packaging, agriculture, biomedicine, and pharmaceuticals, as absorbents to remove pollutants, etc.
