Bending response of simply supported ceramic-metal FGM
plates resting on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundations and
subjected to thermo-mechanical loadings is investigated in the
present study. Material properties are assumed to vary
according to power law in terms of constituents. The
hyperbolic shear deformation plate theory is employed. This
simple theory does not need shear correction factor and
satisfies free stress conditions on plate surfaces. Governing
equations are derived using principle of virtual work and
solved by Navier method. The accuracy and efficiency of the
present formulation are demonstrated by solving some
benchmark problems. Also the effects of thermo-mechanical
loading, foundation parameters, side to thickness ratio and
volume fraction index on the results are investigated.
