An efficient protocol for hydrofinishing of polyalphaolefins (PAO) is developed by applying a novel catalyst under mild condition (at temperature of 130 ºC, catalyst loading of 5 wt.% and hydrogen pressure of 6 bar). Hydrofinishing led to the saturated PAO in 94% yield. Furthermore, the catalyst was recycled up to four runs with insignificant decrement of the catalytic activity and Pd leaching.
