Lignin is the primary bio-resource raw material with a high aromatic structure that can use for producing biocompatible hydrogel. The main aim of this research was to electrospun lignin hydrogel in the form of nanofibers by engineering their structure. For this purpose, different concentrations of lignin with polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and citric acid (CA) as a friendly cross-linker were electrospun. The nanofibers with the optimum mean diameters of 215 and 176 nm were collected on the static and rotational drum, respectively. Also, SEM images showed the best morphology of nanofibers at lignin: PVA of 98:2. The FTIR spectra confirmed the formation of cross-linkages between the PVA and lignin chains.
