A novel green route was explored for production of multifunctional nylon involving simultaneous dyeing and deposition of copper nanoparticles (Cu NPs). In the preparation process, Cu NPs were simultaneously synthesized and deposited on the nylon through in situ synthesis using Cu2O and Safflower aqueous extract without other chemicals. In this study, Safflower extract was introduced as a natural source for reducing agent and dye. UV-Vis spectra and XRD confirmed that Cu NPs were successfully produced and evenly distributed on the surface of the nylon fiber.
