In this study, an in situ forming (ISF) scaffold was investigated for the purpose of bone tissue engineering. Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) based systems were prepared, and PLA chains were functionalized by an aminolysis treatment. The amine groups react with (3-Glycidyloxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GPTMS), which is the coupling agent between the organic phase and silica network. The inorganic phase was prepared by sol-gel reaction using GPTMS and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). PLA-based systems were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectra, and Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). The results show that free amine groups ascent with HDA content and decrease with the formation of silica hybrids.
