Development of a novel duple acrylic coating with an anti-fungal effect for bio applications

A coating made of a duple acrylate formulation containing triclosan and Methylparaben was evaluated as an antimicrobial coating for biological use. In agar culture tests, the triclosan and methylparaben inhibited the growth of candida Vulvovaginitis. Moreover, by adding these antimicrobial moieties (1% per each) to the formulation, the flexural strength does not change significantly (~5.5 MPa).
