Considering the non-toxicity of silica particles and natural polymers as well as the suitable properties of porous materials, in this research, an attempt has been made to prepare and evaluate a hybrid nanocarrier based on silica and natural alginate polymer as an effective drug release system. In order to release the appropriate dose of doxorubicin in the target tissue, a gelatin polymer coating equipped with folate receptors has also been used, which will significantly improve the efficiency of the designed system. The chemical properties of the obtained porous silica-containing drug were addressed by FTIR analysis. This new hybrid nanocarrier can be used as a promising carrier for the treatment of cancer and controlled release of drugs.
