Polymer flooding is a pivotal component in an enhanced oil recovery process in which the polymer solution must maintain its rheological properties as its best even in the harsh condition of the oil reservoir like high salinity and high-temperature medium. Hence, the study of the interaction between different polymers and brines at high temperatures is a very crucial point in the polymer flooding studies that has been less discussed so far. This study investigates the effect of salinity at more common concentrations and different salt types on a popular applicable polymer in polymer flooding. The results showed that adding divalent ions and increasing temperature harm polymer rheological properties. According to the results, Flopaam 3630S solution flooding can be a proper choice for high temperatures/high salinity oil reservoirs.
