Development of hydrogel prepared by crosslinking of carboxymethyl starch (CMS) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) with glutaraldehyde and UV rays was attempted. The membrane was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy. The results of FTIR confirmed the presence of carboxyl groups after starch carboxylation and the study of water uptake showed that the prepared hydrogel has an excellent ability to absorb wound secretions.
