Elastomeric curing systems can be classified into four categories: sulfur, peroxide, sulfur free and cures for specialty elastomers. Among them, sulphur curing system is the most widely used. In this study, the type and ratio of accelerator in sulfur SEV curing system has been investigated by conducting curing, mechanical and ablation tests. The result showed that by increasing the ratio of secondary to primary accelerator at the similar type of primary accelerator, glass transtion temperature (Tg) reduced, final torque at curing rheometer increased and the better char stability is predictable due to more remained fibers after ablation test which is observable through SEM images. I was undrestood that it is possible to use the secondary accelerator (TMTD) at the more amount than primary accelerator in opposite of conventional method.
