The chopped carbon fibers (CCFs) were incorporated into ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber using an internal mixer to make an ablative nanocomposites. The 13 Phr addition of CCFs in the rubber matrix has remarkably increased the backface temperature during the oxyacetylene torch testing of the sample. The mass ablation resistances and char yelding have been increased in this way, which attributed to development of a 3-dimentional CCFs conductive networks at haigher CCFs concentration.
