In recent years, considerable efforts have been devoted to formulating stimuli-responsive adhesives. However, creating magneto-responsiveness in a widely-used category of adhesives, namely pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSAs), has been overlooked. Herein, Fe3O4 nanoparticles were prepared by the co-precipitation method and were modified by silanization. Copolymerization of acrylic comonomers was subsequently performed in the presence of 10 wt. % modified Fe3O4 nanoparticles. Both peel force and tack of the resulting PSA improved by 13.5% in the presence of a 1200 G magnetic field.
