In this study, methacrylated polyurethane and 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid (AMPS) doped polyaniline (PANI) nanofibers were used to prepare an eco-friendly UV-curable nanocomposite coating with promising anticorrosive properties. For this purpose, AMPS doped PANI nanofibers were prepared through the chemical oxidative interfacial polymerization method. The size and chemical structure of the prepared conducting nanofibers were fully characterized by SEM, 1H NMR, and FTIR analyses. Subsequently, different amounts of the prepared nanofibers were ultrasonically mixed with the prepared UV-curable pre-polymer and coated on carbon steel. The corrosion resistance performance of the coatings was evaluated by EIS analysis. The obtained results revealed that the presence of 3 %wt. of the AMPS-doped-PANI nanofibers could significantly enhance the corrosion resistance of the obtained coating. Such outstanding performance is ascribed to the unsaturated doping agents of the prepared PANI nanofibers which could engender their excellent dispersion in the matrix of the resulting coating and culminate in a layer of a homogeneous passivation film on the carbon steel surface.
