A novel and high efficient adsorbent was prepared based on an environmental friendly substrate (κ-carrageenan) and a triazine-based covalent organic framework as a co-adsorbent component. The combination of these two precursors leads to an effective nanocomposite adsorbent for removing Basic blue 41 dye from an aqueous medium. In order to nanocomposite characterization some analyses like, FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM and TGA analysis were performed. The adsorption properties of prepared nanocomposite were investigated in optimum conditions such as pH, temperature, contact time and adsorbent amount. According to the isotherm model, the adsorption was matched to the Longmuir model and had single layer adsorption. The kinetic of adsorption was investigated that fitted with pseudo-second order model with R2=0.971. From the results the maximum adsorption capacity of 833 mg/g was obtained in 15 min and in the reusability tests after 3 cycles, 24% decrease in yield was observed.
