In this paper, different Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) were polymerized and investigated their microstructure, such as molecular weight, density, and thermal properties. The molecular weight is controlled by polymerization temperature because polymerization constants depend on temperature, and there are different activities and microstructures at various polymerization temperatures. The transfer reaction to polymer chains can cause long chain branching. Comonomers can reduce molecular weight and create short chain branching. Therefore, there is no short chain branching without a comonomer. In addition, there are transfer reactions to monomer and cocatalyst.
