To study of conformation and configuration effect of poly[2-methoxy-5-(2-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV) on photo-physics properties, three solutions were prepared. A good solvent, THF, and two orthogonal solvents, DMF and DMSO were used. The role of solvents depends on their Hansen parameters and their interaction with backbone and side chains. In this study, interchain and intrachain interactions were investigated via optical spectroscopy and the considerable role of solvents on semiconducting chains was observed. It was seen that using a mixture of solvents with different thermodynamic properties is a good tool for the appropriate formulation of a series of optoelectronic applications.
