MXenes are a new class of two-dimensional (2D) materials. More than 20 distinguished combinations of MXenes have been experimentally synthesized and more than 70 types of combinations have been theoretically predicted. MXene-based quantum dots are a new growing member of 2D materials family. According to the functional groups, the nature of MXene dots is manageable. With a comprehensive study on MXene and MXene quantum dots, a new impression of vision was obtained based on photoluminescence MXene quantum dots. For this investigation, dual emission MXene quantum dots were prepared. The optical properties of MXene dots displayed double-emission fluorescence, which suggests their potential applications in the development of anti-counterfeiting inks by incorporating these materials into a polymer matrix.
