Ecofriendly water-based polymeric nanoparticles based on organic compounds have many interesting applications in anti-counterfeiting technologies, encryption of security labels, optical devices, chemosensors, and also organic light emitting diodes (OLED). In this study, the photoluminescent polymer nanoparticles were synthesized by emulsion copolymerization of methylmethacrylate (MMA) and methacrylamide (MAAm), and then physical modification of amide functionalized polymer nanoparticles with oxazolidine molecules. Investigation of optical properties including photoluminescence and UV-Vis spectra displayed significant dependency of emission and absorbance bands to the local polarity or concentration of amide groups on the surface of nanoparticles. Some latexes with higher fluorescence emission were coated on the surface of blue light LED lamps, which showed fluorescence emission with high intensity, brightness and also a color change from blue to purple.
