NCC was functionalized using synthesized 2-(Dodecylthiocarbonothioylthio)-2-methyl propionic acid(DDMAT). The modification was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analyses (TGA), and H-NMR analyses. A NCC-g-DEMAEMA was synthesized by in situ reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization(RAFT) method. Finally, the obtained particles were used as adsorbents to remove Methylene Blue from the aqueous solution at different pH values. Results showed that the adsorption capacity for dye increased with increasing pH and contact time.
