Enhancing the bioink’s stability after printing is a crucial step in bioprinting. Many approaches utilizing different sets of chemistries are practiced in this regard. However, most of them are not completely safe for the encapsulated cells and require an additional step post-printing. In this article, we have introduced a strategy to stabilize the bioprinted structures post-printing using bioorthogonal click chemistry without adding any stage. By introducing furan functional groups, Diels-Alder reaction could be implemented by adding maleimide-functionalized PEG. This bioink has shown great printability and enhanced mechanical properties.
