The aim of this study is to prepare and characterize electrospun cellulose acetate nanofibers modified with alkyne groups as an essential precursor for click chemistry. In this regard, the SEM micrograph images of nanofibers show the average diameter of around 444 nm by adjusting electrospinning conditions. Subsequently, the ATR-FTIR results reveal disappearing three characteristic peaks at 1742, 1228 and 1368 cm-1 for deacetylation of nanofibers. In the next step, propargylation of cellulose-based nanofibers is carried out. The Raman spectroscopy is utilized to prove this reaction, and the obtained results exhibit a new peak at 2100 cm-1 corresponding to alkyne groups.
