Clarithromycin (CLR)-loaded poly (ε-caprolactone) nanoparticles (PCL NPs) were synthesized by the use of the microfluidic (MF) nanoprecipitation method and the most important variables were compared with the bulk mixing method (BM). The NPs prepared by MF showed a smaller average particle size (99.8 nm) with a lower polydispersity index (0.13), higher surface charge (-41.3 mV) and encapsulation efficiency (EE%, 76.8%) as well as loading capacity (LC%, 14.6%) with respect to those obtained via BM. Moreover, MF NPs exhibited a slower CLR release in basic medium (approximately 84%) during 24 h.
