In this study, carbon fiber (CF) was used as a shape stabilizer and polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a phase change material in the phase change system. Oxidized carbon fiber (CFO) was prepared using 3:2:1 (v/v/v) mixture of H2SO4/HNO3/HCl acid solution then CFO was modified by toluene diisocyanate (TDI) and ethylen glycol (EG). Existence of functional groups were confirmed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Modified CF (EICFO) was utilized for integration of PEG to prepare phase change system. In this study, effect of of modified carbon fiber amount was investigated on leakage percentage. Findings have shown that, phase change system containing 4 wt.% of modified carbon fibers had the lowest leakage rate and leakage rate in the first heating / cooling cycle was 0.13%.
