In the recent years, smart polymer nanofibers have attracted considerable attention because of their promising properties, such as high surface-to-volume ratio, low density, high tensile strength, and reversible chemical and physical changes in response to external stimuli. Unique properties of nanofibers have led them important applications, such as sensing and detection, authentication documents, separation process, optical data storage, reversible cell adhesion/detachment and diagnostic imaging. In this study, PMMA and PMMA-co-HEMA were prepared by reverse ATRP. Afterward, different oxazolidine derivatives were synthesized and physically doped to polymer matrices. Finally, the polymeric solutions were synthesized and used to prepare electrospun nanofibers with the electrospinning process. The morphology of electrospun nanofibers was evaluated by FE-SEM, and the optical properties of the prepared solutions were characterized by fluorescence spectroscopy. The results indicated high potential applications of the nanofibers in different fields.
